Making ooblek

Today we made ooblek. Do you know what that is? Do you know what it feels like? It's kinda gross, but really cool! Our learning focus is using more interesting words in our writing. We came up with heaps of great ways to describe it! Ioasa said it was like boogas! That made us all laugh. Here's what some of our learning aiga had to say about it:

It felt like boogas. It was like a big booga in a big container. It was so yuck. It was so so yuck, it was disgusting. It was yuck because I was going to puke when I touched it. It felt soggy and so weird. It felt like liquid. I felt embarrassed when I touched it.

The experiment was messy and fun and it smelled like dog poop. It was very smelly. I could feel the powder when I picked it up. The gloop was melting in my hand. It looked smooth but it was not smooth, it was hard because Tino put more cornflour in it. Then she put food colouring in it and then water. I punched it and it did not stick. I kept playing with it because it was very fun to play with.

We got some cornflour and a container and some water and we put food colouring in and then we mixed the water and the food colouring. We put the water and the food colouring in the cornflour and we mixed it up and it was cool. I touched it it felt funny and it felt gross. The pink was like zombie blood. It felt sticky. It smelled like old popcorn.

We poured the cornflour in the container. Then we got some water and poured in a little bit of food colouring. Then we poured it in the container of cornflour. And then the fun part, mixing it and feeling it. It felt like alien gloop!
